A Must Do: Legacy Place in Dedham, MA

Posted on October 9th, 2011

If you haven’t been there yet, Legacy Place in Dedham, MA is a must for your to-do list.  It has been open for two years (wow how time flies), and believe it or not, I somehow didn’t get myself there until last week.  And since that first outing, I have been there three more times.  So I haven’t been there since it opened two years ago, and now in the last two weeks, I have been there four times.  How crazy is that?  It’s crazy good….  Keep in mind, however, that Legacy Place is not your typical New England mall – it’s completely outside.  So bring an umbrella or foul-weather gear to brave the elements if it happens to be raining and/or snowing when you venture there.

My first outing to Legacy Place was to Wicked with a friend for its “Fire Kissed,” mostly organic pizzas and “Wine Bar” samplings.  (Just a note of warning though, the wine selections are not expansive so the “Wine Bar” reference may be more of a misnomer.)  The next day, we took the kids to King’s Bowling for big ball bowling (also known as ten-pin or duckpin bowling).  It was so much fun.  Prior to that, I had only been candlepin bowling so this was a first for me.  We had dinner there too, and the food was fabulous – especially the pizzas and waffle fries.  Dinner was followed by a trip to J.P. Licks for frozen yogurt, ice cream and yummy toppings.

Then two days later, we tried a movie at Showcase Cinema de Lux at Legacy Place.  We didn’t venture to the Lux cinema, however, as the movie we wanted to see wasn’t playing there.  As I mentioned in my post, Movie Fun in the Burbs, Legacy Place offers four Lux cinemas featuring a balcony loft from which to view the movie and extra-comfy chairs that have a little button to push when you want food and drinks.  Following the movie, we ventured to Aquitaine for dinner at the bar.  We found the menu to be inventive, the ambiance delightful and the food exceptional.  And then this week, we took another trip to Wicked to try some more menu items and wine selections.

Here is a list of some of the other fabulous shopping and dining Legacy Place options to explore:

But this is just the tip of the iceberg – there are so many additional stores, restaurants and more to try at Legacy Place – click here to see the complete list.  And if you haven’t already ventured to Legacy Place, and you get a chance to do so, please let me know your thoughts.  I can’t wait to hear….
