Happy Mother’s Day

Posted on May 8th, 2011

Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms, StepMoms, to-be Moms and every other kind of Mom there is.  My oldest daughter made this card for me on her Itouch – wow, how times are changing.  It’s the first electronic Mother’s Day card I’ve gotten, and I love it as have loved all of the photos, cards, necklaces, potted plants and more that my children have given me over the years.  I have saved them all and stored these treasures in a very special place to hold on to forever.

In honor of all of the great Moms, including my own, I wanted to share with you some inspirational and touching quotes on the subject….

“Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.” …. Unknown

“Making a decision to have a child–it’s momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” …. Elizabeth Stone

“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.” …. Tenneva Jordan

“God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers.” …. Jewish Proverb

“We never know the love of the parent until we become parents ourselves.” …. Henry Ward Beecher

“I thought my mom’s whole purpose was to be my mom. That’s how she made me feel.” …. Natasha Gregson Wagner

“Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends – but only one mother in the whole world.” …. Kate Douglas Wiggin

“Your arms were always open when I needed a hug. Your heart understood when I needed a friend. Your gentle eyes were stern when I needed a lesson. Your strength and love has guided me and gave me wings to fly.” …. Author Unknown

The other day on Facebook, in honor of Mother’s Day, I saw a quote that had been written by an anonymous Mom which people were posting on their status pages, and it said, “You will NEVER find someone who loves you, prays for you, cares about you, & worries about you more than I do!!!”  Amen!  Couldn’t have been said more perfectly – that is completely how I feel about my children, and I know how my Mom feels about me.

Happy Mother’s Day – from my home to yours….  I hope your day is filled with love, appreciation, caring, understanding, laughs, kisses, hugs, happy times, special thoughts and so much more…..

xoxo Lisa

Hi Lisa! I hope you’re well! I have been wanting to call or write you to thank you so much for your help this spring. We are so grateful for everything you have done for us.
I actually just read this post now…procrastinating at work, and it made me a little teary-eyed. It also gave me the impulse to leave my work early, run home and snuggle with the little guys! I loved the quote about one’s “heart walking around in the world”…sometimes, it leaves me breathless until I am with them again.
    Thanks,
    Maria
